George Wing
George Wing is a Seattle-based screenwriter and producer who works in feature films (both studio and independent), episodic series, and most recently, Bollywood. He prefers to write original material on spec. He is developing a Broadway Musical version of his movie 50 FIRST DATES with multi Tony winner Casey Nicholaw. After hiding under a rock during the pandemic years, he is newly motivated to help generate some Seattle/PNW film productions.
Debra Pralle
Debra has been a professional actor for 30+ years and is a proud Associate Professor in the Shoreline CC Film program. Screenwriting credits include Period, The Séance, Secret Lives in Cars, Blue Oasis (which begins production this summer), and her one-woman play, No Demerits for Dancing which she’s currently adapting into a feature. Her film directing debut Period, premiered at HollyShorts in LA, won Best Comedy at the 2021 Hip Hop Festival and has had over 7 million views on YouTube. She directed and produced the short films Sally Be Gone, The Pirate’s Mistress, Seward, and the comedy TV series A Broad Abroad in Italy. She’s the CEO of Open Window Entertainment, serving the Pacific NW with female focused storytelling and Oh! She loves cocktails and yoga – just not at the same time.
Vincent Delaney
Vincent Delaney has two features currently in pre-production: the horror comedy ORLANDO CARES (Story Mill Entertainment) and the SF thriller RACHEL (Source Mgmt and Production).
He was hired to adapt the recent Netflix documentary HEIST into a true crime feature, and his SF drama CANAAN was a finalist for the Disney Writing Program through the Blacklist. Also a playwright, his work has been produced across the U.S. and in Canada, the Netherlands, Australia, Japan and the U.K.
Marcella Guerriero
As a 2022 Green Room Fellow, former NwSG Treasurer Marcella was also selected as one of five finalists in the Norman Lear Center’s first Blue Sky Scriptwriting Contest focused on positive visions of a sustainable future. But the LA mentor she was given to help develop her pilot said the script was too complex to get produced by a first-time writer. Positive visions of a sustainable future are Marcella’s purpose as a writer. What she’s been calling “green science fiction” for decades, is now “solar punk”. As a 2024 Green Room Fellow, Marcella will develop a half hour comedy series set in a solar punk Seattle. She’s also producing a short film promoting our Emerald City and her Seattle- based series.
Royce Buckingham
Royce Buckingham is an American fantasy writer with an English degree from Whitman College and a law degree from the University of Oregon. In 2006, Royce sold his first novel, DEMONKEEPER, to Penguin, Putnam, and it became a bestseller in Germany. His screenplay for DEMONKEEPER then sold to 20th Century Fox. Over the last decade, Royce has published fourteen novels with major publishers. He became a best-selling author a second time in Germany with his medieval fantasy trilogy, Die Kart der Welt (Mapper). Royce’s latest book, Monster Lawyer, is an urban fantasy released by Blanvalet in Germany at Halloween 2022. The sequel was released for Halloween 2023.
Heather Pilder Olson
Heather is an award-winning writer, producer, and director. She is a producer for the documentary The River, a film about homelessness in Aberdeen, Washington. She is a 2019 Fellow in the Green Room Screenwriting Program as part of the Bigfoot Script Challenge. And she recently wrote and directed the short film Haunted Wharf: Ethel and the Merman which screened at the Seattle Transmedia and Independent Film Festival in 2019. Heather was an associate producer for the documentary Gold Balls, which profiles tennis players over the age of 80 as they compete for the US national championship. Gold Balls premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival in 2016 and has since screened at 16 festivals in the US and abroad. She also wrote and directed the short film Date Stories, which was selected for the Northwest Film Forum’s 2014 Local Sightings Film Festival, and the Harrisburg-Hershey and Columbia Gorge Film Festivals in 2016.

Arthur Rains-McNally
Arthur is a writer and producer at Decoded Films. He is passionate about fantasy and hyperrealism, and his work often explores themes of loss, self-discovery, and the corrosive nature of power. Arthur’s debut streaming series “Tabitha, Witch of the Order” was awarded funding assistance from the Washington Filmworks’ Innovation Lab program. He is currently writing and producing the graphic novel “Cascadia’s Dark Truth” with longtime collaborator James Dailey. He draws inspiration from his wife Kathryn, cats, and nephews, in the techtropolis of Seattle.
Joey Johnson
This is Joey’s second year co-leading the Green Room, and is excited to help continue the journey of elevating Northwest Screenwriters. Joey has been writing for pretty much his entire life, starting with short stories, an accidental foray into novels, and then finally screenplays, where he has found the most fun and satisfaction. He graduated with honors from Harvard University with an English degree, but his best education was from having written, directed, and co-produced two Seattle-based feature films Shadowed (2013) and Paralytic (2016). While bringing scripts to life has been a life-changing experience, he looks forward to writing stories unbounded by limited production budgets.

Aviva Peltin
After working as an intern and later production assistant on a variety of Seattle independent films, Aviva Peltin graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor’s in English (emphasis in creative writing) from the University of Washington. These days she’s focused on writing sparkly female-driven romcoms that you’d rewatch at sleepovers. Her scripts have placed in the ScreenCraft Comedy Competition, Female Voices Rock, Launch Pad, Bigfoot, and more. Her comedy feature, TWINSIES, scored a 7 on The Black List. In 2023, she signed her first shopping agreement. Aviva is also the co-host of When Isabel Met Aviva, a podcast all about romcoms, female-driven screenwriting, and breaking into the entertainment industry. Her favorite film of all time is SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE.
Nathan Hammer
Nathan is a multi-disciplinary artist who has devoted his life to storytelling through writing, filmmaking (both independent films & music videos), and performing with the national touring acts Kuinka & Babes In Canyon. His past works have been featured by NPR & Paste Magazine. His most recent film “Mountain Violet” won best cinematography at West Sound Film Festival, and screened at Seattle Queer Film Festival, Northwest Film Forum’s Local Sightings, and Seattle Film Summit. Nathan loves details, Washington state, and creating one-of-a-kind work.
Crystal Smith
Crystal Smith has written, produced, and edited everything from corporate marketing videos to independent shorts. She has won Telly Awards and Pittsburgh’s 48-Hour Film Contest. With her inclusive and feminist storytelling style, she aims to celebrate a wide range of heroines in her work. Crystal earned a B.A. in Media Communication and attended the Los Angeles Film Studies Center before moving to Washington. She is excited to join the screenwriting community of the PNW during NWSG’s Green Room.
Mathew Wright
Mathew Wright is an educator, parent, and screenwriter born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Mathew’s horror education started young: mom smoking at the kitchen stove reading Stephen King, sneaking episodes of Twin Peaks on VHS, and watching The Exorcist for his 10th birthday sleepover. Working in public schools and raising kids of his own has only reinforced that upbringing and his understanding of the world: dread and anxiety can fester in the smallest corners. Mathew writes contained horror-thriller features where ghosts and gore are rooted in the slow violence of everyday life and is thrilled to be working with fellow NW writers.
